STAFF PHARMACIST - PER DIEM MESILLA VALLEY HOSPITAL LAS CRUCES, NM
Hours:Regularly scheduled every other weekend for approximately 4 hours from 8:00am - 12:00noon on Saturday and Sunday, as needed, to cover vacations. No on-call.
As a Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) Staff Pharmacist, you will fill orders with accuracy; check technician-prepared products before release; maintain security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy; aid in the training of new staff; update the Director about the daily activities of the pharmacy; and aid the Director in maintaining the pharmacy.

About the Facility: An attractive hospital and location, Mesilla Valley Hospital is a 130-bed psychiatric facility (52 adult and adolescent beds and 80 adolescent RTC beds) that overlooks the city of Las Cruces, New Mexico. The grounds around the hospital are attractively landscaped for general outdoor activities. The facility includes special areas for activities including a multipurpose room, gymnasiums, ropes courses, outdoor swimming pool and tennis court, computer lab, classrooms, and activity therapy rooms. The Pharmacy is open Monday through Friday and limited times on weekends. The Pharmacy is managed by Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) and all staff are CPS employees.

Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy; PharmD preferred
Current Pharmacist license in good standing in the state of practice
Successful completion of a Pharmacy Practice Residency program strongly preferred
Experience as a Pharmacist in a Hospital setting preferred
Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting
Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems
Effective communications skills, both verbal and written
