JOB TITLE: Telepharm Pharmacist LOCATION: Wilkes- Barre Public Square DEPARTMENT: Retail Call Center WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Full Time (1.0 FTE, Exempt) JOB SUMMARY: The Retail Call Center will handle incoming calls made to CPSL sites concerning medications through an Interactive Voice Response(IVR) system. Pertinent information will be gathered from the caller, and along with review of the electronic medical record, call center employees will utilize scripting to determine a response to the needs of the caller. The pharmacist will be responsible for addressing medication related questions, issues, prior authorizations as well as refill approvals. The pharmacist will also perform a medication review at the time of the call and do a complete clinical review and address any medication related questions. SPECIFIC POSITION DUTIES: *1. Improves patient access, customer service, perception, and satisfaction. *2. Maintains strict patient confidentiality. *3. Utilizes current clinical guidelines of medical practice to analyze and authorize prescriptions for refills. *4. Knowledge of pharmacy law in the state of Pennsylvania. *3. Knowledge of Epic for validation of caller, chart review, refill encounter, telephone encounter, prior authorization request, medication reconciliation. *4. Follow up on issues that require further research or resolutions *5. Provides leadership in the absence of the Retail Pharmacy Call Center Manager. *6. Pharmacist must maintain professional liability insurance in the amount of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence or claims made in accordance with the Pharmacy Act Section 9.3(c) and Board Regulation Section 27.312. Demonstrates the ability to meet deadlines and handle stress EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Science in pharmacy or doctor of pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited college and current licensure or eligibility for licensure by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy required. Must complete the requirements for continuing education credits as mandated by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy to maintain current Pennsylvania pharmacist license. Current pharmacist license in additional states is a plus. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is typically performed in a call center/office environment.
