MedStar Washington Hospital Center is a 912 bed, tertiary care teaching hospital. It is the largest private, not-for-profit hospital in the nation’s capital, among the 100 largest hospitals in the nations and a major referral center for treating the most complex cases.
The pharmacy department is progressive and makes full use of automation and computerization. It offers weekly onsite educational programs to enhance pharmacists' knowledge and skills. We are accredited by ACPE as continuing education providers and ASHP for PGY-1 residency.
This pharmacist will serve in antimicrobial stewardship, participates in clinical rounds and monitors antimicrobial therapy. Pharmacist will update and create new clinical practice guidelines, participates in the antimicrobial subcommittee of P&T, and Sepsis Response Team. Provides in-service/educational presentations to pharmacists, prescribers, and nursing and support personnel. Assists in teaching students and residents.
1. PharmD from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy
2. PGY-1 residency
3. PGY-2 residency in infectious disease or 2 years of relevant experience
4. Licensure in the District of Columbia or eligibility to reciprocate
