This is a joint faculty pharmacist position with the UI College of Pharmacy (50%), and the UI Health Care Departments of Psychiatry and Pharmaceutical Care (50%). The position provides pharmaceutical care services to psychiatric patients in a clinic setting. Specific areas of focus will include medication management under the Specialty Pharmacy Services program and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), both of which require providing clinical support, education, coordination of dispensing, and monitoring for patients. It also serves as a role-model/practitioner-educator for Doctor of Pharmacy students and pharmacy residents, and carries out clinical practice responsibilities for the Department of Pharmaceutical Care. Further responsibilities related to the clinical faculty role include classroom teaching, service in the College and University levels and professional productivity.

A Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
Eligibility for or current license by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners at the time of hire.
Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy practice residency OR 2 years’ experience in a complex interprofessional psychiatry healthcare environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Job-related experience in psychiatry with and/or commitment to service excellence is required.
Job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work environment is required.
Satisfactory completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in Psychiatry or Ambulatory Care is highly desirable.
Active board certification in Psychiatry or Ambulatory Care is highly desirable
Able to work independently, prioritize multiple stakeholders and tasks, manage details and deliver results in an environment with competing demands.
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with others
