Education: Bachelor’s in Pharmacy or Pharm. D Degree required.
Experience: PGY-1 residency required or equivalent hospital experience. (3 years). PGY-2 residency is preferred for specialty areas.
Licensure: Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy. License required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider. BLS certification required

The Department of Pharmacy Services has a state-of-the art IV clean room and extensive automation that includes automated dispensing cabinets, medication carousels, computerized prescriber order entry, barcode medication administration, smart pumps, and an integrated electronic health record. The departmen...t is a satellite division for Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Pharmacy P3 and P4 students, providing teaching opportunities for prospective team members. In addition to the Inpatient Pharmacy, the department is comprised of a Medication Use Policy Service, Investigational Drug Service, pharmacist-run ambulatory services, pharmacy supported transitions of care services, infusion services, specialty pharmacy, outpatient pharmacies, and a pharmacy internship program.
The Department of Pharmacy Services runs 12 ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency programs including the PGY1 pharmacy residency program that was selected as the 2017 recipient of the ASHP Foundation Residency Excellence Program Award.
