Provides leadership and direction for specialty pharmacy services (MedStar Specialty Pharmacy Program – MedStar SPX) across the MedStar Health system, looking to the future to anticipate customer needs, growth opportunities, and challenges in developing and maintaining a quality program. This position will hold direct responsibility for the strategic vision, continued growth, and efficient management of MedStar SPX. Areas of focus include: assisting with the development of MedStar SPX goals and objectives; collaborating with industry leaders and contracted partners; and ensuring compliance with clinical care guidelines and regulatory requirements. This position requires a great deal of organizational skill, innovation, independence, creativity, and flexibility in decision making and problem solving.
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or equivalent required; PharmD strongly preferred. Advanced degree (MBA or MHA), preferred. ASHP residency required. Current pharmacy license or eligible for licensure in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia required. BPS-approved certification in one or more specialty area preferred.
