As a full time, exempt Director of Pharmacy with Pharmacy Systems, Inc., (a Comprehensive Pharmacy Services company), at McLaren Thumb Region Hospital in Bad Axe, MI, you will oversee all pharmacy operations including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs with the assistance of a Supervisor and other pharmacy staff. As Director of Pharmacy with PSI/CPS you will have a full support team available to you including a Regional Vice President, Regional Vice President - Clinical, Regulatory and Compliance Director, Financial Analyst, Purchasing Analyst, Drug Information Specialist, and more.
We will provide training and development to enhance your success in this role as a Director of Pharmacy. In addition, we may eventually be able to provide you the opportunity for oversight and responsibility of a second hospital.
Facility: McLaren Thumb Region Hospital is a 58 bed acute care, not for profit hospital in Huron County and is the only hospital in the tri-county area (Huron, Sanilac, and Tuscola) providing obstetrical services. The Emergency Department is open 24/7 and is staffed with onsite Emergency Medicine physicians and experienced emergency room staff.
Pharmacy: This centralized pharmacy currently utilizes CPSI order entry and Pyxis dispensing cabinets, with plans for future CPOE and Cerner system wide implementation in the next couple years. In addition to the Director, the Pharmacy is supported by a staff of 6 employees (3 Pharmacists and 3 Pharmacy Technicians). Pharmacy hours are Monday through Friday, 7a-5:30p and Saturday, Sunday from 8a-4:30p. Pharmacy Systems Inc./CPS has partnered with McLaren Thumb Region Hospital to manage the day to day operations of the pharmacy. The Director of Pharmacy is an employee of PSI/CPS.
Location: Bad Axe, Michigan is located in the lower peninsula/thumb region of Michigan with a population of roughly 3,000. The city is 15-20 miles inland from Lake Michigan's shoreline to the east, west and north and is a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy boating, diving and swimming the open water, hiking, camping, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and ice fishing. There are a variety of state parks, lighthouses, a wild life refuge and museums to explore in this area. With 4 seasons, this location is also considered a photographer's dream.
