The Director of Inpatient Operations provides comprehensive oversight of UAB's Hospital acute care pharmacy operations and clinical services. Facilitates and ensures appropriate coordination of resources to support patient care 24/7. Collaborates with other pharmacy divisions and departments to ensure compliance with all accreditation standards as well as federal and state regulatory agencies. The Director utilizes key performance indicators to monitor all aspects of the medication use process. Implements process improvement initiatives that promote safe, efficient, and cost-effective care to all patients admitted to UAB Hospital.
In addition, the Director will align the goals and objectives of the organization with the department and responsible for oversight of the implementation of major initiatives/growth and change strategies. To be involved with patient care and staff development/hiring/discipline decisions providing the highest level of judgment and decision making.
Bachelor's Degree or PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
