Clinical Health System Director of Pharmacy Mid-South
Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) is seeking a seasoned Clinical Pharmacy Leader to provide leadership and oversight to a prestigious health system in the mid south. In this role, you will provide system wide direction, development, implementation and maintenance oversight of all pharmacy clinical programs.
Identifying opportunities for expansion of clinical services,
Participating in clinical committees,
Facilitation of the development and implementation of treatment guidelines, protocols, formulary changes and critical pathways as approved by appropriate committees,
Facilitation of the identification, resolution, implementation, and communication of cost-effective medication use issues in collaboration with the medical staff, support of the Pharmacy's pharmacoeconomic efforts,
Promotion of safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures and protocols,
Provision of clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners, as needed, suggestion of appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to medical staff as needed,
Provision of education and information on pharmaceutical care and drug therapy,
Coordination of the publication of a pharmacy newsletter for physicians and other health,
Aid in preparation of drug reviews, medication use evaluation (MUE) criteria, antibiotic sensitivity data, adverse drug reaction reports, medication errors and pharmacy interventions summary to the Pharmacy and therapeutic (P&T) committee(s)professionals,
Investigation of suspected adverse drug reactions (ADR) and identify opportunities to improve safe medication use through identification of trends,
Supervision and instruction of pharmacists and pharmacy students:
Development of clinical pharmacist competencies and Documentation of clinical activities and interventions

Required Qualifications: - PharmD required - Current pharmacist license in good standing - Completion of a Pharmacy Residency strongly preferred - 4+ years of recent clinical pharmacy leadership experience over a multiple hospital/health system OR equivalent experience
