Under the direction of a registered staff pharmacist, prepares routine orders for unit dose dispensing, prepackaged pharmaceuticals, prepared intravenous solution for dispensing, and performs related duties as assigned by the pharmacist. Responsible for restocking crash carts accurately and efficiently following established policies for final pharmacistï¿½s check. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:High school diploma or equivalent.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Hospital experience
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:Registered Pharmacy Technician license as required by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Pharmacy Technician certification (both based on state requirements).
