About Shore Medical Center
Shore Medical Center is a full service acute care community hospital located in Somers Point, New Jersey. We are directly across the 9th Street Bridge from Ocean City; one of the most popular and family friendly beach resorts on the east coast. Somers Point is an approximate 20 minute drive to the casino resort destination of Atlantic City, NJ. Also, within a 1 hour driving distance, area residents can access all the historical and cultural attractions offered by the city of Philadelphia, PA.
Shore was the first hospital in New Jersey to receive the prestigious Planetree designation. We are a 199-licensed bed hospital with a year round census of approximately 130 beds. Shore attracts the area’s best doctors, nurses and clinicians. It is also the most favored hospital among these professionals to meet their own personal health care needs. Shore Medical Center is a community hospital with the advanced capabilities more commonly seen in academic medical centers. That’s just one of the reasons why several of the nation's and area's best healthcare institutions selected Shore to be affiliated with their organizations. Our affiliations include Mayo Laboratories, Penn Medicine, St. Chr...istopher’s Hospital for Children, and the Jefferson Neuroscience Network. Shore was just awarded its 11th consecutive A grade from the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, ranking among the safest hospitals in the United States.
