The Inpatient Pharmacy Manager oversees UAB Hospital's inpatient pharmacy operations, non-sterile compounding and repackaging, and distributive services. This position has direct oversight of the department's Central Pharmacy team and works closely with other leaders to optimize automaton and technology, drug inventory, sterile compounding, and clinical services. He/she develops initiatives that focus on process improvement, patient safety, and team member engagement. She/he assures that lean concepts are applied to ensure efficient processes are established and timely delivery of medications. He/she develops and implements strategic plans that align with hospital and departmental goals. She/he performs ongoing evaluations of inpatient operations and utilizes objective metrics to maintain efficiency and to develop process improvement initiatives.
To lead, direct and manage the activities and programs of the Department of Pharmacy. To ensure optimal clinical service. To manage human resource activities and financial targets. To act as a liaison with medical center committees and schools of pharmacy as appropriate. To promote and support research.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Pharmacist by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required.
