Durham, NC - We are assisting Duke University Health System (DUHS), a world-class health network, in their search for the inaugural System Chief Pharmacy Officer. This is an unprecedented opportunity for a new Chief Pharmacy Officer (CPO) to lead a world-class organization in driving innovative leadership in pharmacy education, discovery, integration and practice on a global scale.
Reporting to the EVP of DUHS and with operational accountability to the President of Duke University Hospital/SVP for DUHS, the CPO will provide fiscal and strategic leadership and management of the Department of Pharmacy Services. In collaboration with other leaders, the CPO will envision and operationalize a creative, integrated pharmacy department, striving to provide contemporary and innovative services to continuously improve the reliable, safe and efficient provision of medications across the system. The CPO will inspire and challenge leadership and staff to create a bold and ambitious vision for DUHS and the community it serves. A key member of the system's leadership team, the CPO will also serve as the top pharmacy executive for Duke University Hospital, DUHS's flagship academic medical center.
We are seeking a pioneering, collaborative and strategic senior pharmacy leader with a demonstrated track record of developing and implementing a systemized strategic vision for pharmacy services. The ideal candidate will have at least ten years of senior health system pharmacy leadership experience in an academic medical center or complex health system. A Pharm.D., Ph.D. or equivalent professional degree or experience is required. Candidates should be eligible to practice as a pharmacist in the state of North Carolina.
