The Pharmacy Director for the Taussig Cancer Center conceptualizes, plans, implements and directs the provisions of pharmaceutical care across 20 oncology sites. At Taussig Cancer Institute, more than 250 highly skilled doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals provide advanced cancer care to more than 30,000 patients with cancer each year. Clinical trials and internationally known cancer research efforts ensure that patients have access to the latest advances in cancer treatment.
The successful candidate will serve as a role model for clinical excellence by ensuring that members of the pharmacy team uphold high clinical and educational standards. Goals for this position include providing leadership in planning, budgeting, automation (hazardous compounding robots and gravimetrics), formulary management, standardization of processes, and implementation of strategic plans, best practice clinical programs, cost saving initiatives and patient medication safety strategies.
Advanced degree required: PharmD., Master's of Science degree or Master's of Business Administration degree – preferably residency-trained
A minimum of three years of progressively responsible leadership positions with a distinguished record of clinical practice
Oncology experience and BCOP highly preferred
Experience in a large tertiary care academic medical center preferred
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks/projects and competing priorities
Demonstrated record of innovation and excellence within respective area of pharmacy practice management
Ability to effectively coordinate and implement changes in operations
Ability to form strong physician relations.
Active in local, state and national pharmacy professional organizations
Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Ohio or Board eligible
