The Department of Pharmaceutical Care at University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist who is responsible for all aspects of pharmaceutical care for adult patients in cardiology and pulmonaryareas including the cardiovascular intensive care unit. The position will have rotating shifts including weekdays, weekends and evenings as well as occasional responsibilities in the adult dispensing satellite where the clinical pharmacist oversees preparation and dispensing of medications to acute care areas. Clinical pharmacists at UIHC are involved in all aspects of patient care including, but not limited to, therapeutic drug monitoring, admission and discharge medication reconciliation, medication education, and precepting pharmacy learners. In addition to all members of the pharmacy team, they collaborate on a daily basis with other healthcare providers including, but not limited to, licensed independent practitioners, medical students and residents, nurses, and social workers and care coordinators.

D. (Doctor of Pharmacy) degree or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
Current licensure by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners is required upon hire.
One (1) year of applicable pharmacy experience is required. Years of applicable experience include the time spent completing an ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Job related experience with and/or commitment to service excellence.
Job related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work environment.
Experience in hospital pharmacy setting is highly desired.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or eligibility for completing BLS certification.
Satisfactory completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency in pharmacy.
Satisfactory completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in a specific field.
Clinical experience in providing pharmaceutical care to patients in cardiology areas.
Board certification in Pharmacotherapy or another specialized field.
