The United Mine Workers of America Health and Retirement Funds (the Funds) has an immediate opening for a Senior Manager, Pharmacy Programs. The Funds is a group of six multiemployer plans that provide health and pension benefits primarily to retired coal miners and their eligible dependents.
The incumbent will be responsible for directing and overseeing the Funds’ pharmacy benefit which will exceed $280 million. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Works collaboratively with the Funds’ Medical Director, Program Manager, Department Directors and other staff to develop, implement, and monitor new and innovative cost containment and quality improvement programs.
Provides contract monitoring of the Pharmacy Benefit Manager CVS/Caremark to ensure compliance with the administrative agreement.
Coordinates pharmacy issues.
Leads the Funds’ contract negotiation team in all renewals and reopeners with PBM.
Presents to Board of Trustees pharmacy trend reports as well as results of programs and other developments related to Pharmacy Operations.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s (B.S.) degree or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD.) degree from a pharmacy college or university with four or more years of experience as a licensed pharmacist and or experience in the PBM or managed care industry. Requires in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, including PBM operations, and drug and medical therapies.
