Serves as the primary staff at the reception area in CareSite Specialty Rx. Responsible for reimbursement functions, including
verifying insurance coverage, preparing and submitting invoices and third party claims for reimbursement, and account balances
for outstanding accounts for patients. Responsible for petty cash drawer, makes daily bank deposit, posts patient payments into
accounts receivable, answers telephone, answers provider and patient questions regarding non-clinical matters, i.e. status of
prescription, insurance questions, etc. routes telephone calls to appropriate staff member. Assists in specialty pharmacy accreditation
reporting. Schedules patient appointments for refill calls, patient assessments, etc.
When requested, and after proper training, provides support for other pharmacy area functions such as checking shelves for outdated
items, taking messages off the phone system, packaging of prescriptions, etc.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Enterprise Pharmacy and the GHS.
Works under the supervision of the pharmacist-in-charge or the Pharmacy Manager.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations easily.
Demonstrated computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of Epic and QS1 preferred.
Demonstrated good organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure are desirable characteristics.
Demonstrated ability to work with a minimal amount of supervision. Knowledge of health insurance terminology, medical terminology preferred.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma required.
Previous customer service experience and billing experience preferred.
Epic knowledge and experience preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in a closed door specialty pharmacy. Prolonged sitting, occasional standing and light lifting required.
