The University of the Incarnate Word is seeking applicants for a full time, tenure track faculty position in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the Feik School of Pharmacy. The expected practice site is Laurel Ridge Treatment Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Essential responsibilities for this position include teaching in the didactic and experiential curriculum, providing a clinical pharmacy service to patients with psychiatric illness at Laurel Ridge Treatment Center, service to the University, and scholarly activities. Official duties and responsibilities of tenure track faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service, and professional activities. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics. Other duties as assigned.
The applicant should have considerable experience in the management of psychiatric illnesses and have the ability to work with students, patients, multidisciplinary providers, and pharmacy staff to optimize patient care. Must possess the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Employees shall adhere to all rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Applicants should possess a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with 2 years of postgraduate residency training in psychiatric pharmacy or equivalent experience. The ideal candidate will have experience as a faculty member in a school of pharmacy and clinical experience in psychiatric pharmacy. Board certification in psychiatric pharmacy is preferred.
Applicants must be a licensed pharmacist and eligible for licensure in the state of Texas. Applicants will be expected to become a certified preceptor with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Applicants must obtain and maintain credentialing with Laurel Ridge Treatment Center.
