UF Health Jacksonville (UFHJ) is a 695 bed academic medical center affiliated with the University of Florida. The hospital offers a Level I Trauma Center, Level III NICU, proton beam facility, Poison Information Center, certified stroke program and a variety of other clinical programs. The successful candidate will precept for our ASHP-accredited PGY1 and PGY2 residency programs and students from the University of Florida and surrounding colleges. There are opportunities for research, publishing, didactic lectures and improvement of patient safety and professional practice through hospital committees. The Department supports professional development and encourages participation in the regional/national professional organizations.
The Department of Pharmacy is currently recruiting for 2 pharmacist positions:
Informatics - responsibilities include:
Maintain pharmacy information systems (inpatient and outpatient) in coordination with pharmacy and IT teams.
Resolve service requests and respond to questions regarding pharmacy services.
Assist patient safety initiatives by implementing and maintaining clinical medication databases. for drug interactions/duplications, allergies, dose appropriateness, etc.
Educate and train pharmacy personnel, including pharmacists, students, residents and technicians.
Manage data from various Pharmacy systems to produce reports and information as requested.
Provide direct patient care services and on call coverage as required.
Obtain and maintain EPIC certification as required (e.g., Willow, Beacon, etc).
Medicine/Surgery - responsibilities include:
Participate in clinical rounds with the medical or surgical team
Provide medication regimen analysis and optimization recommendations
Assess and monitor patients for safety and efficacy of medication therapy
Participate in student and resident teaching
Educate medical staff and nurses
Participate in medication safety and quality initiatives and committees
