The PGY2 Critical Care Residency Program at Saint Joseph Hospital is a one year specialty training curriculum focused in a variety of different critical care practice settings. The residency provides goal-oriented practice environments through a variety of experiences in critical care, surgery, cardiology, infectious disease, and emergency medicine to name a few. Most rotations feature a multidisciplinary rounding model where residents refine interdisciplinary teamwork and leadership skills. Relationships with the University of Kentucky and other colleges of pharmacy provide an interactive teaching environment for residents to develop teaching, presentation, and precepting skills as well. Graduates of the PGY2 program will possess the skills necessary to be highly competitive for a variety of career opportunities and will also be prepared to obtain specialty board certification.

About Saint Joseph Hospital (Lexington, KY)
As the largest facility in CHI Saint Joseph Health, Saint Joseph Hospital is Lexington’s first hospital, a 433-bed acute care and surgical facility, founded in 1877. A wide variety of critical care and specialty services are provided utilizing 50 intensive care unit beds (a 22-bed cardiothoracic vascular unit, a 12-bed coronary/pulmonary care unit, a 6-bed neurology unit, and a 10-bed medical/surgical unit), as well as a 35-bed emergency department.
