The University of the Incarnate Word is seeking applicants for a full time, tenure track faculty position in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the Feik School of Pharmacy. The expected practice site is the infectious diseases consult team at JBSA Fort Sam Houston Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Essential responsibilities for this position include teaching in the didactic and experiential curriculum, providing a clinical pharmacy service focused on infectious disease pharmacy at Brooke Army Medical Center, precepting pharmacy residents and research projects, service to the University, scholarly activities, and maintaining privileging and training requirements of the practice site. Official duties and responsibilities of tenure track faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service, and professional activities. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics. Other duties as assigned.
The applicant should have considerable experience in the management of infectious diseases and have the ability to work with students, patients, multidisciplinary providers, and pharmacy staff to optimize patient care. Must possess the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Employees shall adhere to all rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, the NCAA, and the practice site.
Applicants should possess a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with 2 years of postgraduate residency training in infectious diseases or equivalent experience. The ideal candidate will have experience as a faculty member in a school of pharmacy and clinical experience in infectious disease pharmacy. Board certification in pharmacotherapy or infectious diseases pharmacy is preferred.
Applicants must be a licensed pharmacist and eligible for licensure in the state of Texas. Applicants will be expected to become a certified preceptor with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Applicants must obtain and maintain credentialing with Brooke Army Medical Center.
