This is a one-year residency in a free standing pediatric hospital that is part of the academic medical center environment of Riley Hospital for Children (~300 inpatient beds). Required rotations include PICU, NICU, and general pediatrics. A broad range of more specialized opportunities are available in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, hematology/oncology, infectious diseases, nephrology, neurology, nutritional support, gastroenterology, pulmonology, surgery, stem-cell transplant, solid organ transplant and emergency medicine . Twenty different pediatric clinical specialist pharmacists serve as preceptors. The resident is given opportunities to participate in education of PGY1 residents and Doctor of Pharmacy students. Prior completion of a PGY1 Residency is required. Indianapolis offers a reasonable cost of living and great sports/social opportunities.
The qualified applicant must possess a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited college of pharmacy and must be eligible for Indiana licensure. Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency is required.
