The infectious diseases (ID) pharmacy residency at Hartford Hospital provides advanced training in ID pharmacotherapy and antimicrobial stewardship. The program allows for tailored instruction for the individual resident based on interests, past experience, and future goals. Hartford Hospital is an 800+ bed urban tertiary healthcare center with five ICUs and a solid organ transplant service. Other specialty areas include a robust cystic fibrosis and HIV patient population with adjoining clinics. The resident will be involved in precepting pharmacy students from the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy, University of Saint Joseph’s School of Pharmacy, and/or University of Rhode Island School of Pharmacy and will have various teaching opportunities. Additionally, the resident will participate in PK/PD research at Hartford Hospital’s Center for Anti-Infective Research and Development which has a long history of ID research.
