Reporting to the Assistant Director Pharmacy Operations, The Pharmacist Clinical Manager is responsible for overseeing patient care services and operations for an outpatient pharmacy embedded into The Johns Hopkins Hospital medical system. The Pharmacist Clinical Manager supervises and oversees the professional and administrative functions within the pharmacy. The Pharmacist Clinical Manager ensures the development and implementation of effective and patient-centered clinical pharmacy services. The Pharmacist Clinical Manager will also be involved in other projects related to growth and integration of the outpatient pharmacies within the wider health system. The successful candidate will be able to foster positive professional relationships with the multidisciplinary team within the hospital or clinic, including hospital administrators, physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, social workers, and others. The Pharmacist Clinical Manager is responsible for direct oversight of the pharmacist team working in the outpatient pharmacy and works closely with the Pharmacy Business Manager to manage the pharmacy technicians. This role also collaborates with the assigned Pharmacy Operations Coordinator to improve the workflow and efficiency of the pharmacy operation. Experience in health system and community pharmacy operations is strongly preferred.
Education: Graduation from an accredited college of pharmacy resulting in a PharmD degree; PGY1 +/- PGY2 ASHP-accredited residency training preferred; Master’s degree in business and/or healthcare administration preferred; Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification in Ambulatory Care (BCACP) or Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) preferred.
Work experience: At least 2 years of health system or community pharmacy experience preferred.
