Albany Med is an ASHP accredited PGY-1 training program with the primary goal of preparing residents to become excellent pharmacy practitioners, educators, researchers and leaders.
Albany Med is northeastern New York’s only academic health sciences center. It incorporates the 766-bed Albany Medical Center Hospital, which offers the widest range of medical and surgical services in the region, and the Albany Medical College, which trains the next generation of doctors, scientists and other healthcare professionals. Albany Med works with dozens of community partners to improve the region’s health and quality of life. Albany Med is affiliated with Columbia Memorial Health, Saratoga Hospital and Glens Falls Hospital to provide the largest locally governed health system in the region.

Our educational experiences focus on acute inpatient care, with optional experiences in ambulatory care environments. The program is designed to provide the resident with a sound foundation in acute care pharmacy practice with the opportunity to individualize their learning experiences to their educational needs.
