UAB Hospital is currently recruiting for a pharmacy manager for acute care operations. Specific areas of responsibility include the oversight of sterile compounding and USP compliance for a 24/7 inpatient pharmacy sterile compounding operation at UAB Hospital's flagship location in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. Specific responsibilities include oversight of drug preparation and delivery operations, ensuring effective education of sterile compounding staff, maintaining a proper environment for sterile compounding, and standardizing work practices and formulary builds.
The sterile compounding manager is supported by a front-line pharmacist supervisor and several highly-skilled and competent pharmacists and technicians. Additionally, the manager works closely with the central pharmacy operations manager to jointly oversee all aspects of acute care pharmacy operations.
In addition to the above mentioned position, we are interested in speaking with anyone interested in a leadership position in the acute care setting.
The following experience and/or credentials are strongly preferred:
Completion of a PGY1 and PGY2 and Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership
Advanced Degree (MS, MBA, MPH, etc)
Board Certification (e.g. BCPS, BCSCP)
BSPharm or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Pharmacist by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy.
