Acute care clinical pharmacists at UIHC provide diverse pharmaceutical care services including drug therapy review and order verification, interdisciplinary patient care rounding, pharmacokinetic dosing, anticoagulant dosing and monitoring, admission and discharge medication reconciliation, bedside counseling/patient education as well as teaching PGY1/PGY2 residents and PharmD students.
There are currently multiple positions available in the following specialty areas: pediatrics, neurosurgery/neurology/trauma, cardiology and pulmonology, and oncology/medicine. These positions will provide care for patients primarily in the inpatient setting and include coverage of intensive care unit.
Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree Completion of an PGY1 ASHP accredited pharmacy residency or equivalent experience
Excellent verbal and written skills
Job related experience with and/ or commitment to service excellence
Job related experience with and/ or commitment to diversity in the work environment
Current or eligible for Iowa Pharmacist licensure
Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY2 pharmacy residency in applicable specialty area
Board certification in pharmacotherapy or applicable specialty area
BLS, ACLS, or PALS certification
Clinical practice experience in applicable specialty area
Experience in a complex healthcare setting
