Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit is currently recruiting an emergency medicine clinical pharmacist to provide direct patient care services on the midnight shift. Henry Ford Hospital is a level 1 trauma center with approximately 102,000 emergency department (ED) visits and over 3,000 resuscitations annually. There are two major resuscitation rooms, a 16 bed critical care area, separate areas for emergency, urgent and pediatric care and a dedicated ED pharmacy satellite. The ED Pharmacist position has been established for 25 years and provides care for patients 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. The pharmacist is responsible for providing care for adult and pediatric patients, participating in all medical and trauma resuscitations, ensuring appropriate medication therapy and educating both patients and clinicians. The ED pharmacist is also involved in research, medication use policy development, and emergency preparedness. The ED pharmacist has an integral role in training 4th year Wayne State University pharmacy students and both PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residents
