The Omnicell Medication Management and Analytics Fellowship is a one-year, post-doctoral experiential program based in Cranberry, PA. This fellowship is intended to provide experience for a Doctor of Pharmacy through apprenticeships in multifunctional, agile teams on real AI and analytics transformation projects. The fellowship is a deliberate learning journey that combines structured technical lessons (R, SQL) with hands on database project work and customer facing field work evaluating workflows, processes, and outcomes to help customers create solutions that analyze, optimize, forecast or customize. The fellow will gain the skills needed to pursue a career in data analytics, pharmacy informatics or pharmacy automation consulting.
The position has a wide range of responsibilities—leader, communicator, project manager, pharmacy expert. Fellows must be experts in both pharmacy practice and Omnicell’s offering in order to effectively identify and deliver valuable solutions. He/she must understand the key operational metrics facing directors of pharmacy and their impact on profit and loss, compliance, patient safety, and so on. Additionally, knowledge of common use cases (e.g., medication use evaluation, 340B compliance, proactive inventory optimization, medication shortage management, diversion detection etc.) in their domain is required.
Fellows will spend most of his/her time contributing to projects aimed at improving patient and business outcomes for our Omnicell One customers. The fellow will be the lead or major support in many of these projects and responsible for timely completion.
Fellowship activities include:
Participating in new and ongoing initiatives designed to help customers extend their medication inventory management capabilities
Engaging in projects aimed at transforming pharmacy care delivery through the implementation of intelligent and automated infrastructure enhancement
Acting as pharmacy subject matter expert within cross functional teams including: Data Science, Field Strategy, Marketing, Operations, Product, and Legal Affairs. This structured approach will allow for a broad, “hands-on” experience
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of laws, regulations and policies as they relate to pharmacy practice and customer/patient confidentiality.
Provide general clinical support to our technical, marketing, operations, product, sales, and support teams where current clinical knowledge is needed
Contribute to innovation around new products/solutions
Support business case development for new products
Work on quantitative analytics projects as part of the data science teams and/or pharmacy informatics team
Develop experience integrating database information with visualization tools and working with cross functional teams to create and optimize KPI dashboards
Facilitate customer facing optimization and kickoff meetings
Provide customers actionable insights to improve medication inventory management
Engage in projects aimed at transforming pharmacy care delivery through the implementation of intelligent and automated infrastructure enhancements

A Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy with strong academic track record required
PGY1 residency in pharmacy practice or equivalent inpatient hospital experience
