Inova Fairfax Medical Campus (IFMC) is searching for a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Clinical Specialist dedicated to excellence, integrity, teamwork, and focus in patient care. The Pharmacy Clinical Specialist will help Inova achieve its’ vision to be among the leading health systems in the nation and complete its’ mission to provide world-class healthcare – every time, every touch – to each person in every community we have the privilege to serve.
The Pharmacy Clinical Specialist will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other allied health providers to provide excellent pharmaceutical care and services. They are responsible for ensuring safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols; providing accurate, adequate, and timely drug information; providing education to physicians, nurses, and pharmacists; responsible for supporting quality initiatives through data analysis and management; supporting effective operations through policy development, team member engagement, and expeditious medication order verification and delivery all while upholding the highest standards of excellence, integrity, and collaboration.
The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Clinical Specialist must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, specialty training in or have equal years of experience in the hematology/oncology clinical setting, maintain an active Virginia Pharmacist license in good standing or obtain within 30 days of hire, and obtain the necessary certifications (Board Certification in Pharmacy Specialties required within 2 years of hire).
