Responsible for procurement, receiving, storage, handling, dispensing manufacturing, compounding, necessary repackaging of medications, inventory control, and audits. Performs and maintains all required documentation of investigational drug use. Assists in budgeting process and billing functions associated with investigational drug studies. Provides introductory education to pharmacy students and pharmacy residents in the investigational drug process. When required, trains pharmacists on the handling, preparation, distribution, and documentation for investigational drug studies These responsibilities encompass pharmaceutical research in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
Education Bachelors Degree : Pharmacy or PharmD (Required) Other : Pharmacy Residency or a relevant combination of education and experience (Required)
Experience 1 Year experience in institutional practice or residency (Required) 40 hours/Monday-Friday/potential for evenings & weekends/7:00a-3:30p/8:00a-4:30p/2:30p-11:00p
License/Certifications RPH-LIC - PA Pharmacist License (Required)

About Temple University Hospital
Temple University Health System includes a primary teaching-tertiary care facility, and one community-based hospital. In addition to adult acute and ambulatory care services, pharmacists participate in teaching (both didactic and experiential), emergency care and clinical policy development. The pharmacy department provides progressive, automated and clinically-orientated pharmacy services. Investigational drug services are offered at TUH- Main Campus and Fox Chase Cancer Center and well as remote coordination of studies at TUH-Episcopal Campus, and TUH Lung Center. There are currently participation from Cardiology, Endocrinology, Emergency Department, Anesthesia, GI/Hepatology, Nephrology, Neurology/Neurosurgery, Infectious Disease, Sports Medicine/Orthopedics, OBGYN/Reproductive Services, Psychiatry & Substance Abuse, Rheumatology, and Pulmonology in investigational drug studies. The IDS clinical pharmacy specialist is a member of the Temple University IRB. We currently have approximately 70 open trials and over 100 in progress of opening.
