The Sanford Health Pharmacy Department is seeking a full time pharmacist to provide clinical pharmacy services for critically ill patients in the mixed Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit as a member of a multidisciplinary team at Sanford. This will include working in a decentralized ICU role to cover the Trauma and Medical ICU. The candidate will cover the ICU in the decentralized role on the evening shift, as well as central pharmacy coverage on the weekend evening in the 7 on/7 off role. A successful candidate for this role will have experience and/or advanced training in the practice of Critical Care, and the completion of a residency or specialized experience (eg. PGY-2) is preferred. Interest in teaching is a plus and will be available for the candidate, primarily via a preceptor role for our PGY1 and APPE pharmacy trainees. In addition to critical care services, pharmacy services at Sanford Medical Center include involvement in acute care surgery, neurology, cardiology, pediatrics, oncology, intensive care, general medicine, dialysis, transplant, antimicrobial stewardship, and medication reconciliation. Our decentralized pharmacist positions include clinical activities such as pharmacokinetics, TPN ordering and monitoring, anticoagulation dosing, renal dosing, IV to PO adjustments, and antimicrobial stewardship. All pharmacist staff are trained in the central pharmacy and IV room.
