Hematology/Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist Wake Forest Baptist Health is recruiting for multiple clinical pharmacy specialist (CPS) positions. We are looking for highly-motivated individuals to join our growing team of oncology CPS. We are recruiting for a solid tumor CPS in the ambulatory clinic and leukemia. The leukemia CPS with have the opportunity to rotate between the inpatient setting and the ambulatory clinic. This pharmacists work directly with the hematology/oncology teams and have a collaborative practice agreement with the specific disease state providers they work with, the CPS are credentialed with the NC Board of Pharmacy and obtain a clinical pharmacist practitioner license allowing them to have mid-level practitioner privileges. The CPS.are actively involved in the oncology residency program with 4 residents, a PGY1 program, and precepting students from 3 pharmacy schools. The CPS are also actively involved in teaching at the medical center or pharmacy schools, providing direct patient care, and education to patients/care givers. Hematology/Oncology Leadership Positions- Oncology Operations & Clinical Lead Wake Forest Baptist Health is recruiting for an Oncology Operations leader and a Clinical Team Lead position. These positions will support the Oncology Service Line and all hematology/oncology operational and clinical services at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. There is potential for additional responsibilities across the health system as assigned. Essential functions required of the position are as follows: Engagement 1. Serves as conduit between members of their assigned pharmacy practice team and members of the department leadership team, ensuring alignment with and balance of the needs of each group and the vision for the course of pharmacy practice in assigned areas. 2. Foster open & collaborative environment in which team members may discuss opportunities for service expansion, performance improvement, professional development, and other activities as well as topics essential to providing excellent pharmacy services. 3. Serves as a leader and clinician within defined area of practice through activities such as professional development, completion of performance appraisals and individual goal-setting activities for team members, and involvement of team members in appropriate departmental and organizational committees and activities. Quality 1. Coordination of team member activities, including pharmacy student and resident practice experience schedules, pharmacy service coverage schedules, professional leave requests and emergency coverage. 2. Accountable for team activities, adherence to state and federal regulations, and achievement of established practice, safety, quality standards, outcomes and targets. Utilization 1. Works with members of pharmacy leadership team and other Leaders to track and manage pharmaceutical utilization, costs and prescribing trends to identify opportunities for improvement and outcome measures of related initiatives. 2. Provide leadership in departmental strategic planning of clinical resource utilization including Practice Leaders, Front Line Care Givers, residents, students, interns and technicians. 3. Accountable for ensuring that their team achieves financial targets relating to personnel and medication expense. Productivity 1. Prevent, detect, and resolve medication-related problems, and make appropriate evidence-based, patient-centered medication therapy recommendations as part of the interdisciplinary team. 2. Evaluation of the need for additional infrastructure and resources necessary to meet the operational and clinical service goals for team and department, providing guidance regarding appropriate expenditure and allocation of time and resources for team members. In addition to the core responsibilities, this individual will be responsible for execution of strategic initiatives as assigned by the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy, Program Director II. Examples may include: regulatory requirements, clinical efficiency and standardization, utilization support, and other core business planning. It will be imperative that this individual is a self-starter who can independently assess a given situation and apply the principles of situational leadership when appropriate.
