This critical care residency program will prepare residents to become competent critical care pharmacy specialists with exposure to a wide variety of critically ill patient populations. Residents will have opportunities to function independently as a practitioner to provide improved patient outcomes and assist in quality improvement initiatives for the institution. Duties will include but are not limited to: a longitudinal research project, formal presentations, in-services, medication use evaluations, drug monographs, precepting of pharmacy students and PGY-1 residents, and medication safety management. The resident will provide care for patients in the following intensive care settings: medical, surgical, cardiovascular, trauma, neuroscience, pediatric, and neonatal. Residents will also gain experience in emergency medicine, infectious disease, and nutrition support.
