The Department of Pharmaceutical Care at University of Iowa Healthcare is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to oversee pharmacy clinical and distributive operations in adult acute care areas. This position will serve as a member of the Pharmacy management team and will be responsible for management and oversight of multiple service areas and staff members. This position is responsible for development of new programs, performance improvement and other management activities in collaboration with other departments. Education Requirements: - Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
- Current license or eligibility to be licensed as Pharmacist by Iowa Board of Pharmacy required upon hire.
Required Qualifications - Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1/PGY2 Health-System Administration Residency or Specialty Pharmacy Residency minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a complex clinical pharmacy environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interest in acute care clinical pharmacy
- Ability and willingness to act as preceptor for students and residents
- Job-related experience with and/or commitment to service excellence is required
- Job-related experience with and/ or commitment to diversity in the work environment is required.
Desirable Qualifications - Job-related experience in the inpatient care setting is desirable.
- A Master of Science in Pharmacy or healthcare/management related advanced degree such as an MHA, MPH or MBA is desirable.
- Experience with automation/technology, human resources management, project management and Epic electronic health record is highly desirable.
- Board of Pharmacy Specialties certification is highly desirable.
