Pharmacy Supervisor Salary Range: $7,725.00-$19,183.33 Monthly Final Filing Date: 1/28/21 Responsible for on-line supervision of centralized Ambulatory Care Pharmacy clinical services at UC Davis Health. Responsible for implementing and daily management of cost control measures, drug utilization improvement and patient outcomes. Responsible for new program development, and management of new services. Responsible for staff development and assessment of staff competency. Works to improve patient care services and assures quality assurance outcomes are met. Works on-line with Specialist, Senior and Staff Pharmacists and manages daily scheduling of centralized ambulatory care pharmacists and other pharmacy employees. Assists Residency Directors in coordinating residency experiences within the department and assists with student experiences. Works with the inpatient department to ensure exceptional continuity of care between inpatient and outpatient locations. The pharmacist also directly participates in the centralized ambulatory care clinics and covers when staff is sick/out. Required Qualifications - Valid California pharmacy license
- Experience supervising pharmacists, technicians and other support staff
- PGY1 pharmacy practice residency or BPS certification
- Experience working in a busy clinic environment and possess working knowledge of third party insurance billing and state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Comprehensive knowledge of collaborative practice agreements and the practice of ambulatory care in California
- Must possess skills needed to make independent decisions and handle stressful situations
- Knowledge of State and Federal Pharmacy laws
- Knowledge of project management tools and techniques
Preferred Qualifications - Experience in centralized ambulatory care clinical pharmacy setting
- Familiar with the use of physical assessment monitors such as DM machines, asthma spacers/inhalers, BP monitors, Coaguchek machines, etc.
- Familiar with recent ambulatory care guidelines (i.e. NCEP, JNC, ADA)
- Computer skills that facilitate medication order entry and other basic clinical software programs.
- Drug distribution skills and techniques or ability to learn efficiently.
- Knowledge of Collective Bargaining and Affirmative Action principles
- Educational experience and ability to work with and direct and evaluate residents and students.
- Abiilty to develop quality assurance measures and provide guidance for their application in new clinic areas
- Ability to present findings of new clinic research at many levels of the profession (e.g. state, national level)
- Must be involved in professional organizations and participate in task forces, committees, and/or speaking at conferences
- Supervisory experience
- Evidence of advanced management/leadership training (MBA, MHA, PLA)
