The Pharmacist is responsible and accountable for providing pharmaceutical services to the patient in accordance with regulatory requirements (JCAHO, Title 22, OBRA), professional standards (ASHP guidelines), state and federal laws. These services involve compounding and dispensing drugs; requisitioning pharmaceuticals and biologics; providing consultative services to hospitals and extended care facilities; and assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of pharmacy operations and programs for the enforcement of (state & federal) laws and regulations pertaining to drugs. The Pharmacist interacts with physicians, nurses and other hospital staff; plans, assigns, and/or directly supervises the work of technicians. Work performance requires accuracy, demonstration of proficiency with regulatory requirements and hospital policies and procedures requiring minimal supervision, and a strong and sound competency on clinical pharmacy.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Bachelor of Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy degree preferred from a School of Pharmacy recognized by the California State Board of Pharmacy
Minimum Experience/Skills:
One (1) year recent experience in a Hospital Pharmacy; residency or board certification preferred
Licenses/Certificates/Credentials:
Current Registration by the California State Board of Pharmacy
