Job Summary:
Performs tasks within the department which directly support the ongoing duties and responsibilities of the pharmacist(s). Tasks performed contribute directly to the preparation and/or dispensing of medications while under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Provides customer service by answering phone requests and triages calls to the appropriate person if he/she cannot answer the requested information. Applies departmental processes, as guided by corporate initiatives, regarding inventory control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists the pharmacist(s) in the preparation of medications.
- Assists the pharmacist(s) in the distribution of medications.
- Assists the pharmacist(s) in processes regarding inventory control.
- Operates computer systems and utilizes technology.
- Familiar with organization and function of all units.
- Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills, empathy, and unconditional positive regard toward all patients and co-workers.
- Establishes measurable yearly goals and objectives.
- Consistently promotes teamwork and communicates effectively.
- Compliant with organizational requirements, including policies, procedures, and regulations specific to the department.
- Consistently promotes a safe work environment and reports unsafe work practices.
- Consistently promotes positive customer relations.
