We are looking for a Critical Care Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team in Albuquerque, NM.
This full time job is located at Lovelace Medical Center, in the heart of Albuquerque. Lovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, cardiology, stroke care, radiology and oncology services, including the state’s only Gamma Knife Center for non-invasive radiologic brain surgery.
Clinical Pharmacy Services:
Attend daily critical care rounds at Lovelace Medical Center and Heart Hospital.
Facilitate preparation and dispensing of medications in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for immediate need and /or high risk medications.
Formulary management to provide cost effective quality healthcare.
Documents patient care activities and patient outcomes as impacted by pharmaceutical care and clinical interventions.
Optimize transitions of care to and from the Intensive Care Unit.
Precept pharmacy PGY1 residents and pharmacy students
Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy (Required)
ASHP accredited PGY1 residency (preferred) or equivalent experience (required). A minimum of 2 years as a clinical pharmacist in a hospital setting (equivalent to PGY1).
Minimum of 12 months experience in Critical Care/Emergency Medicine setting (required).
Preferred: PGY2 residency or equivalent experience (preferred). Three- five years experience as a clinical pharmacist in a hospital setting (equivalent to PGY2)
Ability to communicate effectively;
Knowledge of pharmacy operational systems which may include unit dose distribution, IV admixture, QA, DUR, Pharmacy computer systems, and automated drug dispensing equipment.
Current License to practice Pharmacy in the State of NM
HOSPITAL BASED DESIRED: IV Certification or must be obtained within six (6) months from date of hire.
