The Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for a Director of Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPE) faculty position in an innovative, student-centered academic Doctor of Pharmacy program. The curriculum emphasizes self-directed learning, critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills. Experiential education begins early in the curriculum and is comprised of both introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences.
The Director of IPPE manages all aspects of the IPPE program and works closely with students, practice sites, and preceptors to optimize student success in experiential education. The Director assists with the development and implementation of strategic plans and goals. As faculty, the Director of IPPE will engage in teaching, service, and scholarship. The Director of IPPE is a member of the Office of Experiential Education and collaborates with the Associate Dean for Experiential Education, the Director of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPE), and the Experiential Education Coordinator.
Successful candidates will have an earned pharmacy degree, excellent teamwork skills, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and strong time management and organizational skills. Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
Experience as a practicing pharmacist.
Post-graduate Pharmacy residency training.
Experience in a directorship role or other managerial experience.
Experience in experiential education.
Previous experience in academia.
A valid license to practice pharmacy in the United States.
