Clinical Lung Transplant Pharmacist - Clinical Pharmacist Specialist - Methodist Hospital Full-time, day shift (rotating weekends), decentralized transplant pharmacist specialist position This position would join our pharmacy team and have a primary assignment working with our thoracic transplant team as we expand beyond our established Heart Transplant and LVAD program and launch a brand new Lung Transplant service. This position will work closely with our current Clinical Heart Failure and Transplant Pharmacist to develop and enhance our program. We are an active ECMO program and have received ELSO Gold distinction. In 2020, despite COVID, we completed 27 OHT and 25 LVAD implantations. Methodist Hospital is a sister facility to Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant, which completes abdominal transplants for our health system. Since opening the transplant program in 1984, the program has performed close to 6,000 kidney, kidney/pancreas transplants and over 700 liver transplants with recognition as being one of the largest living donor transplant programs in the country. Opportunities include precepting both PGY1 pharmacy residents and pharmacy students from two colleges of pharmacy (UT Austin, UIW), and involvement with transplant related quality initiatives, guideline development, and order set review.
