Abrazo Surprise Neighborhood Hospital is the first hospital in Surprise, Arizona. Located at the corner of Loop 303 and Bell Road, Abrazo Surprise Hospital will provide emergency and acute care services in an efficient, convenient location along with close coordination with our other hospitals for patients who may require more complex care. Services provided include the 14-bed emergency department open 24/7, Board-certified emergency physicians, 1 operating room, 8-inpatient rooms, Laboratory services, Diagnostic imaging including x-ray, computed tomography (CT) and ultrasound, and select inpatient procedures.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides consultative services to medical nursing and pharmacy staff. Provides prescribed medications, drugs and other pharmaceuticals and compounds medications. Interprets physician medication orders for appropriateness. Acts as a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff and ancillary department personnel. Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals for patient care by performing the related duties.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of Accredited School of Pharmacy.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Prefer one(1) year of acute care experience but will consider new graduate.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Current Pharmacist license in the State of Arizona.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional periods of above average pressure. Must have basic computer skills. Excellent customer service skills. Must be willing to work in all areas of the pharmacy services as assigned. Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with team members required. SUPERVISES: May Supervise Pharmaceutical Technicians in the absence of a Director.
