The position of Pharmacy Program Manager serves as a first line supervisor and Pharmacist-in-Charge to provide leadership, direction, planning, organization, and implementation of pharmacy programs within the Bonham Pharmacy Service. Duties include, but are not limited to: Administration/Supervisory Manages assigned area in pharmacy service to include budgetary execution. Duties include periodic review of all processes relating to medication dose entry, filling, checking, and delivery of prescribed medications. Develops and interprets policies and procedures relative to their assigned area. Develops and maintains systems to monitor the performance of staff activities. Effectively supervises and manages multiple pharmacists and technicians. Supervises the workflow and gives direction to support personnel as needed. Develops effective communication with Union and is knowledgeable on the master and local agreement. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Applies EEO principles and requirements to all personnel management actions and decisions, and ensures all personnel are treated in a manner free of discrimination. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with Facility Leadership, Providers, Nursing and other departments as needed. Evaluates reports by analyzing facts and performing appropriate research and prepares detailed responses. The incumbent operates under the supervision of the Associate Chief of Pharmacy Operations (Outpatient) who establishes the overall assignment areas, objectives, and resources for the outpatient pharmacy section. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
