The PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency is a one-year post-graduate program. The Pharmacy Practice resident participates in an interdisciplinary team environment and works closely with preceptors on Pharmacy resident activities and experiences. The resident performs special projects that develop and/or enhance department services, professional practice and educational programs based on ASHP Residency Program guidelines. Processes physician orders and reviews patient medication profiles for appropriateness of therapy. Ensures the prompt and accurate dispensing and delivery of medications to patients. Performs clinical and educational functions as necessary to support department services and overall patient care. Acts as a drug information resource. Reports to Residency Program Director.
Position Qualification: (Training, Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities)
Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy required.
Previous hospital experience preferred.
Previous clinical experience in an acute setting preferred.
Interpersonal and leadership skills preferred.
Good organizational skills preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
Current Florida Registered Pharmacist licensure or awaiting licensure by the day stipulated on the Pharmacy Resident Employment Agreement.
