UPMC Central PA Region in Harrisburg, PA is recruiting for an Oncology Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to advance and expand upon its existing multidisciplinary patient care team.
Oncology Clinical Pharmacist Specialists work closely with the pharmacy leadership team, medical staff, nurses and fellow pharmacists in planning, implementing and assessing various medication-related programs within their specialty area(s). The Oncology Clinical Pharmacist Specialist functions as a member of the multidisciplinary critical care team with direct patient care responsibilities in both the acute care and outpatient infusion settings across the seven hospital health care system.
Additional responsibilities may include development of order sets/therapy plans, assessment of compliance with clinical practice guidelines, medication usage evaluations, development of medication management policies, participation on hospital committees, education of UPMC employees, development and administration of competency assessments, precepting of pharmacy students and PGY-1 pharmacy practice residents, and management of the medication formulary.
Doctor of Pharmacy degree
Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a pharmacist in Pennsylvania
Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-2 in Oncology OR completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 plus experience at a progressive institution
BPS Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy and/or Oncology Pharmacy
