As a Pharmacy Supervisor you need to know how to:
Supervise the patient care and operations of the department. Collaborates with the department leadership team to evaluate service needs and volumes and adjust staffing levels accordingly. Assigns daily work schedules. Acts as a resource in the daily operations and activities of the department. Performs pharmacist duties as required.
Develop, direct, and coordinate training of new and existing associates. Ensures associate competency. Oversees supply and equipment inventory to maintain optimal supply levels and ensure equipment repairs and preventative maintenance occur in a timely manner.
Support the department leadership team in problem solving to address issues relating to patient safety, care and service. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team and interdepartmentally to facilitate that department’s ability to meet its goals and objective. Ensures coordination of care with other departments to promote the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
Assist with Human Resource management functions including interviewing, selection, orientation, education/training, feedback, performance evaluation, and policy and procedure development. Assists in updating and maintaining personnel files. Maintains and monitors Kronos records for employees. Presents and documents staff meetings as required. Assists in development of capital planning and operating budgets.
Collaborate with the care site leadership team to identify and drive quality and performance improvement initiatives. Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Maintain competency to practice as a clinical pharmacist and provides staffing or clinical care as required to support department operations for up to 80% of scheduled hours.

Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy with a five-year Bachelor of Science Degree or Pharm D.
Current Licensure by the state of practice in Pharmacy
Board certification in pharmacy practice or other recognized BPS, informatics, or other pertinent specialty.
MTM (Medication Therapy Management) certification
Current BLS and ACLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association
