The University of Iowa Health Care, Department of Pharmaceutical Care, is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist - Acute Care Overnightsto join our team. The clinical pharmacist is responsible for all aspects of pharmaceutical care for adult patients for the overnight shifts (either 2100-0700 or 2130-0730). This clinical pharmacist will be responsible for order review and verification for patients in various clinical areas (i.e. critical care, emergency medicine, internal medicine, neurology, transplant, etc.). This position will be structured as a 7-day on-7-day off schedule. The pharmacist covering this position will primarily serve in a clinical order verification role with occasional responsibilities in the adult dispensing satellite where the clinical pharmacist oversees preparation and dispensing of medications to acute care areas.
Clinical pharmacists at UIHC are involved in all aspects of patient care including, but not limited to, therapeutic drug monitoring, admission and discharge medication reconciliation, medication education, and precepting pharmacy learners. In addition to all members of the pharmacy team, they collaborate on a daily basis with other healthcare providers including, but not limited to, licensed independent practitioners, medical students and residents, nurses, and social workers and care coordinators.

Pharm.D. (Doctor of Pharmacy) degree or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
One (1) year of applicable pharmacy experience is required. Years of applicable experience include the time spent completing an ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency
Current licensure by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners is required upon hire. Includes those eligible for obtaining this licensure
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Job related experience with and/or commitment to service excellence
Job related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work environment
Experience in hospital pharmacy setting is highly desired
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or eligibility for completing BLS certification
Satisfactory completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency in pharmacy
Satisfactory completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in a specific field
Clinical experience in providing pharmaceutical care to patients in internal medicine areas
Board certification in Pharmacotherapy or another specialized field
