The Division of Pharmacy at MD Anderson Cancer Center strives to be the industry leader in providing premier patient-centered care, based on excellence and innovation in patient care, services, research and education. P&T and Drug Shortage Coordination Assists in coordination of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee through activities such as monograph preparation and presentation, meeting facilitation, implementation of committee decisions, communication of information from the committee to other areas of the institution, and participation in subcommittees. Manages drug shortages including determining alternatives, preparing communications to medical and other staff, monitoring drug availability, etc.
Formulary Management/On Call/Escalation Committee Contributes to formulary management efforts including leading formulary management projects, serving on the Formulary Management On-Call Team, and supporting the Formulary Escalation Team
Drug Information Provision and Training Provides drug information to other healthcare professionals in response to specific questions and drug information training to pharmacists and pharmacy trainees.
Medicare Billing Compliance Supports the Medicare billing compliance efforts through assigning billing modifiers based on supporting evidence, selecting new target drugs, coordinating implementation of modifiers for additional drugs, responding to ABN help desk requests, etc.
Education Required: Pharm.D degree.
Experience Required: Pharmacy Practice Residency (PGY 1) and Residency in the area of specialization (PGY 2). Experience as a clinical pharmacist in the area of specialization may substitute for the required residency on a one to one basis.
Certification / Licensure Required, All of the following: Texas State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist license within 90 days of job entry. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of job entry.
