Binghamton University School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences invites applications for a full-time, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Co-Coordinator of Experiential Education within the Office of Experiential Education. This 12-month position offers an exciting opportunity to be a member of an innovative developing, program. The candidate will have two roles, a faculty role, and an administrative role as an Experiential Education Co-Coordinator.

As the Experiential Co-Coordinator, the faculty member will assist the Assistant Dean of Experiential Education and other experiential faculty/staff in managing and implementing programs, initiatives, and processes to ensure a high-quality Introductory and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE/APPE) program that meets the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences' educational mission and vision and the ACPE standards. This includes ensuring a sufficient number of preceptors, or licensed pharmacists and other practitioners (as applicable), who satisfy the criteria for an adjunct faculty appointment, for the experiential program. Additionally, the Co-coordinator will perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean of Experiential Education. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

As a non-tenure track faculty, the individual will be responsible for didactic (including laboratory) teaching, service as the Office of Experiential Education representative on a School Committee, and research. The School assists you in developing a research program through an individualized mentoring team and assistance of our own grant's office. The faculty member will be involved in mentoring students to complete a project as part of our Capstone research program as well as experiential education-related research projects.

Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, be a creative problem solver, and have a strong commitment to developing preceptors who will provide excellent experiential learning opportunities for our students. A personal commitment to scholarship and teaching is also required.

Primary responsibilities are as an Experiential Co-Coordinator who will work collaboratively with the Office of Experiential Education (OEE) and report to the Assistant Dean of Experiential Education:

• Recruit, develop, and maintain IPPE/APPE sites and preceptors
• Implement the pharmacy experiential program in collaboration with the OEE
• Prepare and manage placement assignments of student IPPE/APPEs
• Co-coordinate experiential courses
• Assist in developing a preceptor mentorship program and provide mentorship to preceptors and pharmacists at practice sites
• Prepare and deliver continuing education to preceptors and other staff at sites
• Conduct site visits and evaluate sites, preceptor, and student experiences to ensure quality
• Demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence in the provision of instruction and assessment of student learning outcomes in the experiential and didactic portions of the curriculum
• Collect quality assurance and improvement data of the IPPE/APPE Experiential Program

• Bachelor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy degree, or other pharmacy advanced degree required.
• Pharmacist licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of New York is required.
• Experience precepting pharmacy students is required. 
• Hospital practice experience is strongly desired.
• Completion of a PGY-1 residency is preferred, but not required.
• The candidate must be able to gain and maintain confidence and cooperation of faculty, staff, administration, preceptors, and students.
• Have proven leadership capabilities, personnel management, and communication skills in a variety of pharmacy practice settings is preferred.
