As a member of the pharmacy leadership team, advances quality clinical pharmacy programs to improve outcomes and overall patient experience in an ambulatory environment. Supports the clinical pharmacy initiatives by driving workflow implementation and process improvement to ensure that each team member is set up for success.
As a Specialty Clinic Pharmacy Manager you will need to know how to:

Manages a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in an ambulatory clinic seng. Develop and manage a peer review process to support professional development of the team. Ensure the team has appropriate training necessary to carry out the functions of their job role.

Responsible for financial and quality metrics for the ambulatory pharmacy clinic team, including Medicare Star initiatives that are managed by the clinical pharmacy team.

Facilitates operational improvements, workflow optimization and organizational change through collaborative work relationships to enhance performance across the pharmacy team. Facilitates collaboration to share and implement best practices.

Responsible for the implementation of SCL Health Pharmacy Services and SCL Health Medical Group programs and services. Support provider relationship development. Provide medical staff with appropriate medication information for new and existing drug therapies to support safe prescribing practices.

Provide direct patient care services as needed to support existing programs and to provide coverage for team members.

Advise on the correct procurement, storage, and administration of drugs in the clinic seng.

Support efforts to continuously improve the quality of the services being provided through participation in the collection and analysis of pertinent data, and through the development of program modifications that are driven by the analysis.

Evaluates service needs and volumes and adjusts staffing levels accordingly. Maintains effective and appropriate staffing and staff scheduling to ensure safe, quality patient care. Promotes staff flexibility and cross-training. Provides communication to teams through rounding, huddles, staff meetings and other forms of communication to relay updates regarding department updates, organizational activities, financial performance, educational opportunities, interdepartmental activities and QI acvies.

Responsible for problem solving to address issues relating to patient safety, care and service. Promotes effective working relationships and works effectively as part of a department/unit team and interdepartmentally to facilitate that departmentâ™s ability to meet its goals and objectives. Ensures coordination of care with other departments to promote the highest level of patient care and satisfaction. Participates in interdisciplinary committees throughout the organization.

Manages human resource functions such as interviewing, selecon, orientation, education/training, feedback, performance evaluation, and policy and procedure development. Maintains personnel files, including documentation of appropriate staff orientation, competency, training, discipline and performance reviews. Oversees department timekeeping and payroll. Collaborates with HR concerning employee issues and performance. Conducts employee coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions and annual appraisals. Monitors staff adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Prepares and presents business plans, reports, and other statistical data.

Partners with the department director and leadership team to identify and drive quality and performance improvement initiatives. Participates in establishing mechanisms to design, measure, maintain, and improve the performance and quality of department services.

Your experience.
We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:
- PharmD degree, required
- Pharmacist license in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy in Colorado and Montana (will allow grace period to obtain license in either state), required
- Two (2) yearsâ™ work experience in an ambulatory clinical pharmacy practice setting
- Board certified in Pharmacotherapy or Ambulatory Care, required
- Board certified in Ambulatory Care
- Five (5) years of work experience in an ambulatory clinical pharmacy setting, preferred
- Supervisory experience, preferred
- Proficiency or familiarity with Epic, preferred
- PGY1 and/or PGY2 Residency completion, preferred
